We’ve seen all sorts of apps for iPhone during the years, but late last week we saw a new special app that is a mixture of translator and augmented reality. This amazing app is called Word Lens and it’s the language translator.

Unlike other translators, Word Lens is using visual search style engine so if you want to translate something, you just need to point your camera towards it, and Word Lens will translate it automatically. In fact, Word Lens will show you the translated picture on your phone in real time, without the need for internet connection. The key to Word Lens is the usage of OCR technology that recognizes the words and processes them for translation instantly without the need for internet connection. At the moment, this app only supports English and Spanish, but we’re expecting to see more languages in the future.

Word Lens is an amazing app, and it can be quite useful if you’re visiting a foreign country, as for price, Word Lens will cost you $4.99
