Here’s a concept which has come to life but the question is, would you like to sit in a car as charming as this fella? Hiroshi Shimizu is the Japanese inventor behind the electric Eliica concept car. Its got eight wheels, each powered by its own electric motor, despite its looks, this concept is an expensive one, costing $5 million. The Eliica can reportedly reach 60 mph in just four seconds and has a ridiculous top speed of 200 mph.

While a more familiar, four wheeled vehicle will debut in January, only 100,000 will be produced per year, each would cost $17,500 (around £10,866) without electric motors or a Lithium Ion battery pack. Simizu claims his vehicle will net 200 miles per charge which is double that distance of the Nissan Leaf.
