Though Alpa has tagged its new launch, named as ALPA 12 STC, at Photokina as compact camera for travellers yet the images of the new camera has led us image how uncomfortable this camera would be for travelling.

We have been waiting for the big players to make their moves but we have hardly had any announcements at the Photokina this year. Looks like the giants have decided not to use the Photokina platform to launch their major products so as to avoid real time criticism.

We do have something from HP though. Along with the launch of HP Designjet Z6200 Photo Printer series HP has also launched HP Vivid Photo links. Both when combined are said to deliver high quality outputs along with the speeds of high end printers.
Noritsu has come up with a new generation minilab that has been designed to cope up with the changing trends in digital photography. The newly announced D1005HR is the successor of D1005 and comes with a resolution of 1440 dpi.

Photokina is on a roll and so are different companies that aren’t letting go the chance to launch their products in the presence of the world media. Though we have discussed about the likes of Pentax, Fujifilm, Panasonic and Sigma and their new photography gadget yet one must not consider Photokina to be the gathering of industry biggies only.

Some of the regular players keep popping in and so is the case with Lensbaby. Tilt transformer from Lensbaby is one product that is doing rounds in Photokina and attracting plenty of attention.
