Photokina brings with itself some amazing releases and this year it isn’t any different. Pentax seems to have been witty enough to launch some of its new camera models early in Photokina so as to grab all the necessary attention. After the Pentax Optio RZ10, Pentax has now come up with the next model of the K series namely K-5. The Pentax K-5 is almost similar to its brother K-7 though it has some noticeable changes accompanying it.

Adding other improvements and refinements – such as a much-faster autofocusing speed, an upgraded HDR (High Dynamic Range) function now usable in handheld shooting, and better operability through an overall review of the design and shape of all components – the K-5 is designed to be more functional and maneuverable in every detail, and more capable of responding to the discriminating demands of advanced amateurs than previous models.

The Pentax K-5 boasts of a 16.2 MP CMOS sensor which is said to be similar to that of the sensor in 645D. With 7 fps burst mode and ISO ranging up to 12800, the Pentax K-5 looks to be an amazing DSLR. The camera comes with the much wanted 11 point auto focus the totally new HDR mode which may be enough to lure many DSLR lovers.
