This is what’s so great about Android, you can have it as your platform for just about any device, tablets, PMPs, mobiles, you name it. The latest Archos 32 is an Android powered portable multimedia player and is a great example of that. Although we don’t know what version of Android OS it will use we know that Archos 32 will have 8 GB of internal memory and 3.2-inch screen that supports 400 x 240 pixel resolution. This portable media player will use WiFi for internet access and it will have support for multi-touch pinch and zoom.
Of course, integrated camera that can capture both images and video is included as well. As for the hardware, Archos 32 comes with 800 MHz Cortex A8 processor with DSP and with 3D OpenGL graphics. This portable media player has a wide range of supported file formats and some of those formats include MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC, OGG, FLAC, optional AC3 5.1, AVI, MP4, MOV, 3GP, MPG, PS, TS, VOB, MKV, FLV, RM, RMVB, ASF, and WMV.
Archos 32 looks like a strong iPod Touch competitor, compatible of supporting a wide range of multimedia formats, and it comes with one of the most popular mobile operating systems. Although we don’t know the official shipping date we know that the Archos 32 will be rather ‘cost friendly’ at just $147.
