Though Sony hasn’t yet communicated the real prices and launch date of its new range of DSLRs namely A33 and A55 yet, the images of the devices have leaked on the internet. Avid Canon users might just ignore this article but for Sony fans this is something worth a look. The new Sony DSLRs look to be pretty exciting and we are sure that they will entice people whenever they hit the market.

The two new DSLRs namely Sony A33 and Sony A55 are said to have pellicle mirror. The concept behind pellicle mirror helps the incoming light of image to be divided into two different light beams with both being of different light intensity. The technology uses a semi – transparent mirror to divide the incoming light into two different beams. This helps the camera to use the light beams for different purposes at the same time.

Though Sony hasn’t yet revealed the exact configuration of both the cameras yet some rumors reveal below specifications:

Sony α33 should come with below configuration:

  • 14MP sensor
  • ISO range of 100-12800
  • 1080i video
  • 15 AF points, some of them cross-point
  • 7 fps
  • dual memory slots (not sure what type)

Sony α55 should come loaded with below configuration:

  • 16MP sensor
  • ISO range of 100-12800
  • 1080i video
  • 15 AF points, some of them cross-point
  • 10 fps
  • dual memory slots (not sure what type)
  • built-in GPS

If different sources are to be believed then Sony should come up with something official for these DSLRs by 24th August. Pretty close? Fingers crossed Sony fans!
