Realistic robot hand H-Type from Squse

On August 16, 2010, in Robotics, by Mike Jefferson

This is quite an interesting find, or robotic hand to be precise, from Japanese company called Squse. What’s unique is that Robot Hand H-Type from Squse looks like a real hand and it even comes with a torso but without a head, and honestly that looks a bit freaky, but besides that, Robot Hand H-Type works nice.

This hand is quite realistic and it can pick up objects that weight up to 1.5 kg and it is using “bones” that are made from polycarbonate and a silicone rubber covers the entire hand. The arm weighs only 340 grams and it consists of 16 joints and 22 actuators. It seems that this hand will surely find its purpose in the future because it can pick up all sorts of objects such as bottles or even sushi and move them from one location to another.

It looks like we’re going to see Robot Hand H-Type in the food industry because two companies from this sector have already expressed interest. As for the price, Robot Hand H-Type consists of three items: hand, arm and a image processing system. As for the price, one Robot Hand H-Type costs $94,000.
