We already know from recently revealed stats that Android OS has indeed become the most popular smartphone platform in the United States. Now we have a chance to control Android phones via voice in a similar way that iPhone users can with the new app from Google.
Google has this week released Voice Actions app for Android that will give you voice control over your Android phone and now you can speed things up simply by saying voice commands aloud. You can write messages without even pressing a single button on your screen and all that you have to do is to say the keyword “send text to” along with recipient’s name and your message.
Besides that, you can listen to the music by giving voice commands and call all sorts of contacts simply by speaking their name or phone number. However, you’re not limited only to your contacts, you can call all sorts of companies as well, and all that you have to do is to say the name of the company and its location aloud.
Besides these functions, you can use Voice Actions app to send emails, get directions, visit sites, view maps, write notes and search Google. Voice Actions app has some amazing features to offer that will make your life easier but if you want to use it you’ll need to have your phone updated to Android 2.2 Froyo first.
