Samsung is ready to launch it on a high note. They have been dreaming of their newly designed Epic 4G to settle down in history as an epic but this just won’t be that easy with over a million phones already available in the market. For those who already owe the lower end models of Samsung and love it just because it is a slider; it is time for them to move on.
The Samsung Epic 4G for Sprint packs the screen of the Galaxy S, the 1GHz Hummingbird CPU, the 5MP camera with 720p video and Android 2.1 Eclair with the upgrade to 2.2 Froyo coming soon.
“With its beautiful display and slide-out keyboard, Samsung Epic 4G is a powerful tool for our customers, and it extends Sprint’s 4G leadership with a second strong smartphone option,” said Sprint CEO Dan Hesse. “As we continue to lead the 4G revolution, we are proud to offer our customers two 4G smartphones, the Overdrive 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot and several 4G USB modems to access the fast speeds on our 4G network in more than 48 cities today. 4G enhances entertainment, gaming and business applications.”
Samsung tags it Epic 4G as the only smart phone that lets people enter text using three different input methods. Either you can use the QWERTY keypad or the virtual keyboards. Lastly, one can also use the Swype technology to enter text. I am wondering why will someone want so many ways to enter text? Wasn’t one enough? It would have surely helped Samsung drop the cost of their smartphones.
