Say goodbye to Google Wave

On August 6, 2010, in Latest News, by Mike Jefferson

Over the years we have seen many new services from Google and some of them achieved huge success such as Google Analytics or Gmail while others were forgotten soon after their release such as Google Buzz. Besides Google Buzz there’s another service from Google that isn’t gaining any popularity nowadays and that’s Google Wave.

Google Wave had an interesting solution that was boasted as the revolutionary method of communication. Google Wave was a web service that combined several methods of communication including e-mail, instant messaging, wikis, and social networking. While it was only released in May this year, according to the latest news, it seems like Google Wave is near its expiry date very soon.

The news came from Google, saying that Google Wave will be abandoned but the project will be available for usage at least to the end of the current year. Although Google Wave was an innovative idea and it worked great, but somehow it didn’t receive the attention and that’s the reason why Google has decided to abandon it.

Google Wave was a great idea, similar to Google Buzz but it just never hit its potential peak. Although Google Wave is abandoned it’s good to hear that some of its ideas will live on.
