Latest concept: C.R.A.B. Defense System

On August 2, 2010, in Robotics, by Mike Jefferson

You’ll have to agree with us that robots are the future and over the years we’ve seen many different robots. Some of them are human-like while others are practical and some of them even had some signs of artificial intelligence. Have you asked yourself what do you get when you combine practical usage and artificial intelligence? You get something that is called C.R.A.B.

C.R.A.B. isn’t like the other robots that we’ve seen, we’ll have to admit that. Unlike other humanoid robots this one looks more like a crab, but don’t let its looks fool you. C.R.A.B. stands for Cybernetic Autonomous Remote Barricade. As you can see, C.R.A.B. is the most advanced system of defense and it is several times bigger than a human is. This defender is using most advanced weaponry and armor but so far it’s just a concept design. Speaking of weaponry C.R.A.B. should use high impulse twin cannons and reinforced body armor and it should be perfect for emergencies such as riots. Besides advanced weaponry and armor this robot will use certain amount of artificial intelligence. Interesting this is that two weapon manufacturers, Dalton/Stanley and Omni Consumer, have been working on artificial intelligence for this robot for past twelve years.

Although C.R.A.B. is still an early concept designed by Jamie Martin we will probably see something similar in the future. Question remains how C.R.A.B. will protect the people and how safe will you feel with C.R.A.B. while it’s patrolling the streets.
