We have already seen several greats in the world of rugged cameras. You might remember the Lumix TS2 waterproof and shockproof camera that came from Panasonic some time ago. Now we’ve got a new successor to the TS2 that also comes from the Lumix series and it is called LUMIX DMC-TS10.

LUMIX DMC-TS10 is similar to the TS2 because it’s a rugged camera, designed for extreme conditions. It’s waterproof up to 10 feet, shockproof to 5 feet, dustproof and freezeproof to 14 F. In addition, this camera has silicone jacket so it’s resistant to scratches as well. Although it doesn’t provide same amount of protection as TS2 it will still provide decent protection from shocks, dust and water – yet, its still very slim and just looks very much like a normal point and shoot.

As for hardware specs LUMIX DMC-TS10 comes with 14.1 Megapixel sensor and with 4X optical zoom. In addition, this camera comes with Venus Engine IV image processor and with 2.7-inch LCD display. Great thing about its display is that it has High-Angle mode that allows you to see it perfectly from different angles. Additional features include Intelligent Auto mode, MEGA OIS image stabilizer, Intelligent ISO, Face Detection and Intelligent Scene Selector function. This camera is HD compatible and it can record 720p videos in Motion JPG file format.

Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TS10 is a great camera and although it’s not as powerful as the TS2 it will still provide satisfying features to its users. This camera will be available in several colors such as blue, red, black and silver and it will be released in September with the price of $249.95.
