Kno: First dual screen tablet from D8

On June 3, 2010, in Laptops / Computers, by Mike Jefferson

Today we see all sorts of different tablets with each day, but have you ever seen a dual screen tablet? If you haven’t you should know that company named D8 is working on a first dual screen tablet.

While other manufacturers are trying to make smaller tablets, people from D8 are doing the opposite. If you think that one screen for tablet is enough wait to see what D8 has to offer. Apparently, people from D8 think that one screen is not enough for tablet so they’ve developed Kno tablet that uses two screens.

This tablet is huge and it uses two 14.1-inch displays that can provide 1440 x 900 pixel resolution each. Kno tablet weights 5.5 pounds and it is using NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 chip. As for the storage, this interesting device comes with 16GB storage that will be enough for all your data. Although this device is in its early stages, it can provide six hours of battery life. Because of the early development stage, Kno is quite laggy and buggy but the D8 is working on the way to improve its performances. We don’t have the official release date but we’re guessing that the final model will cost less than 1000$ when it is released.

Kno was originally imagined as the textbook replacement for students, but there’s a question how will students handle such a big device. Anyhow, Kno is the first device of its kind and D8 showed us that dual screen tablet solutions are possible.
