While the rulers of graphic processing units are rest assured that nobody out there can shake their thrones, some mini companies are utilizing this void in graphics card market as an advantage to launch their products with some different characteristics to catch public attention.

The baby of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), namely ATI, has full confidence that its master product HD 5970 will continue to rule the hearts of graphics lovers till they work on their next generation products but they should understand that companies out their have already started to launch products that might end up doing wonders for customers. Recently, Club 3D has announced a new version of ATI Radeon HD 5550 which won’t require a fan to stay cool throughout its running time. This makes it noiseless and it is enough to attract people’s attention.

The newly launched Club 3D HD 5550 has been tagged as noiseless edition as it requires only a heat sink for cooling purposes. No fan means no noise and no noise means no irritation. Enough for people to consider switching to this new DirectX 11 capable video controller.

Club 3D HD 5550 will be powered by Redwood GPU which is itself based on 40nm process technology. The processor will have frequency of 550 MHz and will come coupled with 512MB GDDR3. It will operate on 128 bit interface and will boast about a clock speed of 1600 MHz. The heat sink of Club 3D HD 5550 is composed of multiple heat pipes with an aluminium fin block covering the same. It does consumes up to two expansion slots. The card will have HDMI, DVI-D and D-Sub connectivity.
