If you’re a forgettable person and you tend to forget to do simple things such as taking your medications for instance you might want to taste this new peace of technology.

pill

Yes, I said taste because the word is about a pill, but it’s not an ordinary pill, that’s for sure. It’s a special pill developed at the University of Florida and it’s used to remind you that you need to take your meds at the certain time. So how does this “smart pill” work? Well it’s not a real pill as you probably realized, it’s a tiny microchip, so small that it can fit into a pill. This microchip is actually placed into a capsule, which also acts as its antenna, and sends you a reminder that you need to take medications at a scheduled time. This is really great for elderly people who tend to forget things, because all the notifications come to your cell phone, laptop or other devices that you carry with you. This pill requires no battery at all because it receives power from the bursts of extremely low-voltage electricity sent by the device that acts as receiver.

This pill looks like the future of medicine and I’m sure that its going to be helpful because more than 200 000 people die each year simply because they’ve taken only half the medications they’re meant to take. So if you don’t mind swallowing pills with microchips you can try this new piece of technology in near future.
