Is your PSP ready to hit the streets?
Beauty is only skin deep when you are nose to the screen, thumbs deep in God of War: Chains of Olympus, all that matters is the code chugging away within the system. You are probably oblivious to what your Playstation Portable is wearing. But when your bus swerves to avoid a jaywalking squirrel, the right outfit could save you from a disfiguring scratch across the back of your system, and a bucketful of tears.
PSP owners have traditionally avoided covering their hand held with adhesive based skins. Some gamers dig the pristine purity of their naked system. Fair enough. But others are simply repulsed by the notion. What if the skin fits awkwardly, like a Metal Gear game on a non Playstation system? What if it leaves behind a sticky residue? Or worst of all, what if it voids the PSP warranty? I was curious to find the answer, so I procured a selection of PSP skins currently on the market and tested them to determine which ones were aesthetically pleasing, comfortable to use, easy to install, strong enough to shield your system from scratches, and ultimately worth your money.
None of the skins on these pages will void your warranty. Removing the skins left no marks and no sticky residue. If you want maximum protection, toss on a screen protector, and you might not even need a case for your PSP. This protection comes at a cost, though the thick texture could irritate sensitive skin. You will also need to enlist the help of someone with steady fingers for the installation.
