Opera Mini, the popular web browser for many smartphones will soon be available for the iPhone. The company is organizing an exclusive pre-release preview of the software during 2010 Mobile World Congress. Jon von Tetzchner, Co-founder, Opera Software, marks this as a unique opportunity for the company to unveil the feature-rich web browser to the world.

As per Jon this event is a major step towards achieving company’s goal of bringing the Web to the World. Opera web browser is currently available as Opera Mobile and Opera Mini on numerous platforms and devices. The event will put light on the latest beta versions and add-on widgets of the software.
Opera Mini offers its users convenient and secure web browsing functionality. Its distinguished compression technology facilitates faster web-page loading with minimal data download. Alike its desktop flavor, Opera Mini caters tabs, speed dial and a password manager for optimizing usability. At the MWC 2010, Opera Mini iPhone Version will be showcased for press and channel partners only. The general public will get a chance to put hands on

  • Opera Mobile 10 beta 3 on Symbian S60 and Windows Mobile handsets
  • Opera Mobile 10 beta running on Android handsets
  • Opera Mini 5 beta, running on a variety of handsets and platforms
  • Opera’s cross-platform Widgets Manager beta, running on Windows Mobile and S60 handsets

Opera’s gadgets and tools will be put on display in the Hall 1, Booth C44 during the MWC 2010 event.

    [...] Opera Mini: Soon to arrive on the iPhone – ever since the iPhone was released one of its real strengths was its Safari mobile internet browser which made viewing standard websites more bearable on a mobile device, well now it looks like there could soon be another option on the iPhone with Opera Mini browser (much like they have a Opera Mobile for Windows Mobile phones). Whether this will prove to be any real improvement on what we’ve already got remains to be seen, but hopefully this competition will mean Apple keeps developing their Safari browser for the benefit of all iPhone users.
