I like the Sony VAIO E series so far; I got the EB13FX. Latest hardware, latest Intel Core i series, fast, and Windows 7 now quirks or bugs like the old Vista. And the VAIO EB13FX does not seem to run too hot either.

However, I have concerns about the 'no-boot' Quick Web Access (QWA). No-one seems to have brought up the subject of malware security in QWA. I don’t know how long QWA’s been out, but it seems to be included with Sony’s VAIO NW series notebooks too. Does QWA prevents scripts and programs embedded in web-pages from running? And with embedded pdfs, videos, flash, etc. in web-pages, you can forget about blocking downloads (think of Temporary Internet Files folder). I’ve run QWA once, and I have not seen any anti-malware application running, and I can only assume the Windows firewall is at least used.

Sadly, I’ve googled the subject, and I have only found one article on the matter. Worse, it says that QWA is safe simply because it does not allow “downloaded files to the computer’s hard drive.”

Anyway, I'm keeping my VAIO EB13FX, but I'm going to avoid using the QWA for now.

Thanks for your useful comment P-chu, we never would have thought about the concern/issue with the quick web access, this just goes to show how important consumer feedback is! Reading your comment, you seem overall quite happy with your purchase. I think you would probably agree that the QWA shouldn't be the main attraction for the buying an E Series and should instead also consider the rest of its specs?

Personally, I do think QWA is not an important purchasing criteria. In fact, I was not even aware that it existed until after I bought my notebook, and began to become familiar with the notebooks features and buttons.
