While the Sony Ericsson Satio may not be the phonemaker’s latest smartphone, a few months back when it first launched here in the UK, there were a few problems with the handset which led it to having been withdrawal from the shelves! However, Sony Ericsson didn’t leave this for long. The Satio has been a popular choice of cameraphone since the error got patched up. Its most attractive feature is probably its 12.1 megapixel camera and unique new UI. We’ve been lucky to be sent one for a review and here are some of our pics so far.

The Satio features a 12 Megapixel Cyber-shot camera with intuitive touch focus for centring your camera lens on a person or landmark. Use the Xenon flash to capture clear images in lowlight locations and the LED flash to capture video clips. There’s a wealth of tools for editing your photos and videos, from red-eye reduction to adding cool effects. You can capture video in fast or slow motion and upload clips straight to YouTube™ or to a personal blog.

Intuitive touch controls and a tabbed home screen make menu navigation easy. You can customise the Satio’s menu layout to suit your personal taste and download extra applications online.

The Sony Ericsson Satio is a multimedia powerhouse with its built in WiFi connectivity, advanced camera functions and Assisted GPS.

It comes with a generous 8GB memory card and is compatible with microSD cards up to 32GB in size.
