The Nexus One certainly has the hardware capabable of doing this, its just restricted from doing so that’s all. That’s why, we all saw this coming. Android hacker – Cyanogen has created a hack which allows modification Google Android OS 2.1 (which currently comes with the Nexus One) to enable multitouch capabilities.
Though there are drawbacks to Cyanogen’s hack, as it only enables multitouch function for the device’s native browser at this point. Users will be able to pinch and zoom when user the browser just like that of the iPhone. Cyanogen has reportedly pledged to add multitouch features to other Nexus One applications in the near future. This means, users may be able to use multitouch and gestures throughout the device’s platform as well as apps when this becomes reality.
So far, here is what you’ll be able to achieve if you run Cyanogen’s hack on your Nexus One…
