New iTablet rumors: Apple to launch ‘iSlate’ next month?
So is it iTablet or iSlate now? Confusing isn’t it? No one is certain, but after it was revealed that Apple had bought the domain islate.com in 2007, many now speculate that Steve Jobs had been planning this all along and that the device we’re about to see will be called iSlate. I personally think the name iSlate is an awful name for a tablet and believe this is just coincidental that we find out about this just one month before we think Apple is due to announce their iTablet Mac – the date for this is thought to be 26th 27th of January.
While Apple has so far refused everything there is to speculate about the iTablet or iSlate, its expected that it will be a keyboard-less tablet computer that resembles the iPhone but larger. There is also rumor that two versions will be available, 10 inch screen and a smaller version with a 7 inch screen. Will it run the iPhone OS or is “iSlate” actually the name of a new OS for this Mac tablet? This will be interesting to see, all we know at this point is the Yerba Buena Centre for the Arts in San Francisco has been booked by Apple for a ‘Major product announcement’ on the 26th 27th of January.
