Rare gadgets: Ricoh x Stussy GR Digital III camera

Posted on December 22nd, 2009 by Editorial Staff in Digital Cameras

To be available in only 500 units is this latest crossover edition of the GR Digital III camera by Ricoh with an added touch of stylishness by the popular clothing brand Stussy. The point and shoot has been designed to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the US brand. While spec wise, the camera is not that different from what you would expect, but because it is so-called a special Stussy edition GR Digital III camera, it will cost approximately £280 more according to my calculations.

Ricoh fans may be aware that the original GR Digital III went on sale in August earlier this year. It has a 28mm/F1.9 lens, 10-megapixel 1/1.7-inch CCD sensor with 4x digital zoom and ISO of 64-1,600. It takes video, though only manages 640 x 480 at 15/30fps. On the outside, its got a three-inch LCD screen and an SD card slot. The main attraction as you can see is probably that day-glo blue which has given the camera a nice theme and of course the Stussy logo!

As mentioned earlier this limited version GR Digital III will be available in only 500 units from the beginning of February 2010. Pricing wise, it will be 99,750 yen / £664 / $1060.
