I have a question. I use my laptop as a desktop PC. Its on my desk plugged in always. I bought the X-mini MAX 2 portable speakers to compliment my laptop speakers. My question is can I use those speakers while plugged in. As in listen to music through them while the USB is plugged in and fully charged.

Or do I have to charge it, drain it by using them and then charge it again?

I thus ordered two X-mini II capsules because of the superior frequency resonse over the X-mini MAX II and I have connected them in stereo using a 3.5mm stereo male to two 3.5mm mono female splitter and connected each speaker to a (left or right) mono jack of the splitter using a 3.5mm mono male to 3.5mm stereo female coupler. So, to connect the two speakers in stereo, you need the one splitter and the two couplers so you can plug each speaker using its stereo plug into a coupler that connects to each mono channel of the stereo source. Sounds complicated, but its very easy to use once you put it together. And the stereo sound is fantastic, and it seems to get more base than the 100Hz response would suggest.

According to the specs on the Xm-i.com Web site, the X-mini MAX II has a frequency response of only 200Hz to 18Khz, while the X-mini II has a better frequency response of 100hz to 20Khz, which should provide much better bass and treble response.

If you want the very best quality of sound, it sounds like the X-mini II is the way to go.
