Its been a long wait but we knew it had to be soon, O2 has finally made official the launch date of the Palm Pre. On the 16th of next month - October 2009, O2 will officially be selling the Palm Pre here in the UK. According to O2’s, the Palm Pre will be free on a 2 year (24 month) contract and free on 18 month tariffs at £44.05 or £73.41 per month.

If you’ve been looking forward to this moment but don’t want to be stuck to O2 for two years and would rather go for a cheaper monthly tariff, the 18-month package does offer £29 – £34 monthly payments but the Pre handset will cost you a one off £97.

As O2 has won exclusive rights to sell the Palm Pre here in the UK, they are of course tempting all potential customers like they have done for the iPhone and that does include unlimited data and The Cloud and BT OpenZone Wi-Fi access on all tariffs available.

The Palm Pre will also ship with the TouchStone wireless charger (another must have cool gadget!), which will retail for £44.11.
