Google is teaming up with the world’s biggest board game manufacturers to create an online version of the popular board game Monopoly. We anticipate that this will be brilliant fun. The game will use Google Maps as its board so players can choose from millions of streets around the world to buy.

The online version will be known as Monopoly City Streets, letting you build skyscrapers and football stadiums in addition to the usual houses and hotels. The good news is that the game will be available for free and you will be given a starting wealthy bank balance of three million dollars. Downing Street is up for sale for $231,000 and the White House for $2 million. Can’t wait to actually see it come live, that’s tomorrow! Visit the site here

I fondly remember playing Monopoly as a child, and I am thrilled to see how this classic game has been taken to the next level. I am definitely going to play this when it is released…oh but this post was on the 8th, so they should be up and running. I’m off to go check it out! Cheers everyone!

You’re right mate, the game is already up and running! And it looks to have been so successful that many city streets have already been bought, well, first come first serve I suppose!
