Latest technology: Kodak’s flexible OLED works underwater

Posted on August 31st, 2009 by Editorial Staff in Technology

Boy do we love OLEDs and this one especially. This latest demonstration of OLED technology was brought to our attention by Kodak. We all know these amazing displays can be twisted and bent but we didn’t know they could also be submerged into a bucket of water! OLEDs are known to be notoriously moisture-sensitive, this allowed the Kodak researchers team to display a fishy image on the flexible display once it sensed that it was dipped into water. Check them out, it is truly quite an achievement!

This is the future! (not meant to sound corny). Flexible, thin screens are set to revolutionize advertising as companies can include thin adverts in magazine etc.

The day of the LCD screen is numbered, and OLED LED technology is taking over. It is very impresssive if something like this can function underwater. This means products incorporating this technology is pretty much weather & splash proof.
