Video: Sneak peak at the final build of “Windows Phone”
Don’t you guys start calling it Windows Mobile 6.5, as it is now officially (but exclusively shown to the folks at The Inquirer) known as the Windows Phone and nothing else. Microsoft does have the habit of changing names for those of you who are not always in touch, its their way of rebranding and relaunching something that’s old and starting to loose touch. Just like how Live suddenly became Bing for example. Nevermind the rebranding, well the story behind this video below is that The Inquirer were given an exclusively first hands on demo with the final build of Windows Phone OS. It was demoed on a touch screen HTC Touch Diamond2 but for those who are wondering this doesn’t mean it will only appear on HTC phones in the near future. As you can see this Windows Mobile OS is a very Zune-ish UI, on board there is also marketplace for Windows Phone, the free My Phone sync service, Microsoft Tag and a whole range of other functions which Zune fans already love.
(Please give the video some time to load, its definitely worth watching!)
Microsoft’s assumption is probably that the Zune OS has been appreciated by its users and that WM users would probably like it too, though we’d like to think the opposite of that. Windows Phone OS is likely to be released to the public before Christmas around the time in which Windows 7 will be available for PCs.

I for one am not going to be buying it, why doesn’t use all the money it has to really come up with something more unique than a Zune/iPhone mashup.
