“Twinterview” with @SonyEurope on BDP-S360 Blu-ray player
Many of you will remember the Sony BDP-S360 Blu-ray player which we featured back in April. As you may know we recently had the opportunity to under take a twitter based interview with Sony’s Blu-ray specialist Mr Eric Kingdon. Though timing was shortly, the below were the questions we asked based on what readers have sent us via Twitter and what Mr Kingdon commented in response.
@SonyEurope Hi Eric, many thanks for this excellent opportunity and agreeing to answer some of our questions about Blu ray.
@Gadgetlite Hi, no problem – you’re welcome any time.
@SonyEurope Could we first start by having you explain what your role as #Sony Blu-ray technology specialist involves?
@Gadgetlite I work on Sony Blu-ray, Hi-Fi, Home Theatre products.I want to ensure tech is understood by people who have to sell and buy it.
@SonyEurope Talking about the BDP-S360 Blu-ray player, how would you describe it to audiences who have not heard of it?
@Gadgetlite the BDP-S360 is our updated entry-level Blu-ray player. Great picture + sound, with added benefits like BD-Live & deep colour
@SonyEurope Great! Could you explain how the idea of the BDP-S360 came about?
@Gadgetlite New model improves on the successful BDP-S350; goal was highest entry-level cost-performance ratio
@SonyEurope The lack of WiFi and access to video streaming services were the main concerns of many reviewers, can you comment on this?
@Gadgetlite BDP-S360 is designed to be a basic player for most people. We’re working on other things…
@SonyEurope The birth of Blu-ray disc technology wasn’t without competition, in your opinion what will it be like in the future?
@Gadgetlite It’s early days, more capacity, BD Live etc are pushing boundaries. Movies will be more interactive and enjoyable
Like we mentioned, Mr Kingdon did have a busy schedule that day so the number of questions we could ask were limited to a short space of time but we did try to choose the ones which most of you wanted to find out more about. If you do have further questions or comments, do drop us an email or DM us on Twitter @GadgetLite and if necessary we can always pass it on to Sony again for some more Q&A.
