Update (08072009): Newest redsn0w now jailbreaks all iPhones and iPod Touches, this includes iPhone 3GS as well!

Just as we expected everyone, jailbreak and unlocking tools for iPhone OS 3.0 have been released. Only first generation iPhone 2G and the first generation both generations of iPod Touch running the new iPhone 3.0 can be jailbroken and unlocked at this point. It is now probably the only time in iPhone hacking history which we have tools available to jailbreak and unlock all devices, these include jailbreak and unlock for iPhone 2G, 3G and 3GS. Jailbreak is also now fully successful for both generations of iPod Touch.

You would think these would be available by now wouldn’t you? Nope, this is actually the world’s first. This latest gadget, the Samsung LD220 USB monitor has been unveiled at the World IT Show 2009 in Korea. Dedicated for quick plug and play use with laptops and netbooks, the LD220 provides a brightness level of 300cd/m2, a contrast ratio of 30,000:1 and a response speed of 5ms.

Pricing details are yet to be revealed, but the LD220 will certainly not be world’s only USB monitor for very long, these gadgets should become much more popular as time comes as they are definitely very convenient to have.

Artmu laptop sleeve transforms into a mouse pad

A company called Artmu has come up with a not so techy but revolutionary design to laptop sleeves. Ok, the word revolutionary may be an exaggeration but this isn’t a bad idea at all. Available in red, pink or black, the protective sleeve opens up to become a cushion for your laptop as well as a mouse pad.

The Artmu laptop sleeve will be available for laptops of all sizes, including 10″, 13″ and 15″, with price ranging from $15 to $20 respectively.

The biggest problem a number of you who have jailbroken or unlocked iPhones will soon be pondering about will be whether or not to click that update button. If that’s you, so far, we do not recommend you do that. However, having said that, first generation iPhone users are relatively safe given that you don’t mind having a locked iPhone for just a few days. For iPhone 3G users, from what we’ve read so far we would recommend you hold on abit.

The latest firmware 3.0 for iPhone and iPod Touch is now out, check your iTunes everyone! If you’ve got a jailbroken or unlocked iPhone, you might want to hold back from upgrading until the new tools are released for jailbreaking and unlocking the iPhone (2G, 3G and 3G S!).

Definitely safe to update for those not using alternative carrier networks or don’t want to jailbreak for third party apps, find out more about the new iPhone 3.0 here. Check your iTunes guys! We’ll have news on iPhone Dev Team’s soon to be released tools very soon.
