Apple’s upcoming free iDisk app for iPhone is indeed going to be one of those apps which you will tap and use on a daily basis. The only catch is that you will need to be a MobileMe user. Once its out, the iDisk app will let you view your iDisk files right on your iPhone.

It provides support for most popular file types, such as Microsoft Office and iWork ’09 documents and presentations, PDFs, all of which when opened will be viewable in landscape or portrait and of course zoomable using pinch gestures.

In addition to allowing you to share files which are too large in size to be emailed, you’ll also be able to use the iDisk app to access public folders, existing MobileMe users will already know how this can be achieved by setting folder access permissions. Any file you’ve viewed recently doesn’t need to be reloaded, this gives a major advantage say if you need to pause for something, you can quickly resume reading afterwards.

Overall, with the upcoming free iDisk app (and I say free, as in free to download, check out service pricing over at me.com) documents you have backed up onto MobileMe from your Mac can be streamed to your iPhone for viewing and further sending. iDisk will send an email with a link for the recipient to download it directly from MobileMe. Whilst there may already be a bunch of likewise apps and services, once the iDisk app is out along with iPhone 3.0, we suspect like many Apple services Mac users will welcome it and find it handy to have.
