Nintendo has announced that a new black version of its popular video game console Wii will be arriving in August. Those of you who have held up on buying the original white colour themed Wii for the past two years may now finally be tempted to a make purchase.

Though there won’t be any changes in terms of hardware, I must say that the black Wii as well as its black Wiimote pictured looks amazing.

Unfortunately, so far, its only been said that the all black Wii will be arriving in Japan in August. Pricing wise, in Japan the console and its accessories will cost as follows: Wii system ($260), Wii remote ($40), Wii Nunchaku ($19) and Wii classic controller ($21).

As our friends at Geeky Gadgets have pointed out, considering how popular the Wii is here in the UK we wouldn’t be surprised when Nintendo finally announces that they would have even more colours once this “colouring trend” arrives everyone else worldwide.

One Response to Black Nintendo Wii confirmed, arriving in August

  1. 1

A Black Wii does look pretty cool, even though lets hope we do not have a revival of the “colorful” N64. The Wii is a fun system for a little bit but it does not have many games like call of duty or the orange box. However at E3 they did announce the Wii will be getting some hardcore games. This does sound like an interesting prospect, especially because Nintendo has been so focused on family gaming. Very good post and I can not wait for a black wii to come out, however I still think the box trumps both Wii and PS3.
