Are you a chocoholic? There aren’t many people I know of who don’t appreciate the addictive satisfaction you get from chewing a chocolate bar. But for those who are really lazy and I mean really lazy and don’t even have time to do that, Le Whif is the latest innovation that may help you solve that problem. Le Whif will go on sale by the end of this month in four luscious flavors: mint chocolate, raspberry chocolate, mango chocolate, and plain chocolate.

Harvard professor David Edwards, lead inventor of Le Whif, says: “Over the centuries we’ve been eating smaller and smaller quantities at shorter and shorter intervals. It seemed to us that eating was tending toward breathing, so, with a mix of culinary art and aerosol science, we’ve helped move eating habits to their logical conclusion. We call it whiffing.”

Steam powered charger powers iPod and USB gadgets

On April 13, 2009, in Gadgets, Geeky, by Admin Staff

Based on a Jensen #75 steam engine, which is used to drive a Lego Technic motor. The clever inventor, Thomas uses the motor in this project, to feed into a voltage regulator circuit, providing a continuous 5V charge to what ever gadget or device is plugged into the USB end, in this case an iPod.

Dell Adamo gets dissected by iFixit

On April 13, 2009, in Geeky, Laptops / Computers, by Admin Staff

We’re abit late on reporting this, this time around. But I’m never bothered about writing something late if it is as interesting as this. The team at iFixit have done it again by thoroughly taking apart their Dell Adamo. Because I’m not much of a DIY person myself, I always enjoy checking out their pics.

No specs or anything at all right now but based on discussion its seems most think this is real. All we can see is one image with a possible new Zune HD with a touchscreen while the rest is just a bunch of strange graphics :) , we’d love to hear your comments.

avast-antivirus-macWe received a few messages from Mac users last week worried about the conflicker worm. While we are not aware that Mac OS X are susceptible to its infection nor are we aware about many viruses that can infect Macs, we believe some of you like some suggestions on choosing a reliable antivirus software / app for Mac OS X.

Avast Antivirus Mac Edition has the same ICSA Certified scan engine as all Avast antivirus products, offering protection against the latest and legacy virus, malware, Trojan horse, and spyware risks. Virus definitions and scanning capabilities are updated often (sometime several times per day, depending on current threats), so you can rest assured that your Mac is protected at all times. All you need to do is install, configure once (if you want to change the default settings) and forget about malware being a problem.

On April 12, 2009, in Weekly Roundup, by Admin Staff

Hope everyone has had a good weekend so far, the above were some of the gadgets and tech we featured this week. Its not always possible to talk about them all here at GadgetLite so the list of links from our neighbouring friends’ blogs below hopefully gives you a bit more for your craving needs! If you own a tech, gadget blog yourself you can always Twitter us some links to be shared and featured in this list, for now have a good weekend everyone!

By the way, just a reminder, anyone can take part in our current free gadget giveaway: Free gadget giveaway: SanDisk Mobile Ultra 8GB Memory Stick Micro M2 Card with USB Reader, due to end on the 30th April, this month. We look forward to hearing and seeing comments from everyone!

We only told you about the possibility of seeing a next generation BlackBerry Storm, the Storm 2 earlier in the week and now it seems that rumor has been confirmed to be true. RIM’s Alain Segond von Banchet, Channel Sales Manager in the Netherlands has confirmed the release of the Storm 2. It will be due later in the year, for Europe: late ‘09 or early 2010! What the sales manager wasn’t being so honest about was whether the Storm 2 will be upgraded with WiFi, despite this, it seems very obvious that this hardware update will be inevitable if RIM wants to continue to compete with its rivals using the Storm 2. Hopefully we’ll see more info of the successor of the first BlackBerry full touchscreen mobile soon.
