Next gen iPhone will have percentage battery indicator
It seems BGR are on a row, they have received further images from their “trusty ninjas” of what new features the iPhone 3.0 and the next gen iPhone will sport. The two screenshots below basically sums it up, the one on the left which says in the middle “you can take videos using the camera”, we have shown you before. While the other one clearly confirms our suspicion and indicates that the future iPhone OS 3.0 will give its users the ability to choose whether or not to display its remaining battery as percentage.
While you can argue that these features are already available if you jailbreak your iPhone and download certain apps through Cydia, it appears that Apple is now listening and looking into exactly what iPhone users really want. By looking into Cydia apps and making them available freely through their own next OS update, what more can we ask for?
- The final 3.0 firmware is said to support OpenGL ES v2.0.
- There are various references to “ChinaBrick” in some of the 3.0 beta firmwares. Could this a reference to a Chinese-specific iPhone with no 3G and no Wi-Fi? It would be pretty comical if it was…
- We’re also told that there’s a very, very strong possibility video recording will be specifically for the new hardware iPhone and not backwards compatible with the iPhone 3G. Not something entirely new, just more strikes against current users getting some video love, though!
