A Koenigsegg supercar made of one gigantic piece of high-tech solar panel that runs purely on electrons? Yes exactly, this is no joke. The Quant is the offspring of the latest Koenigsegg-NLV (NLV Solar AG) partnership, its a four-passenger coupe with an electric motor driving each rear wheel. The combined output of this unique package is 512 horsepower, which is expected to bring the supercar from knot to 60 in about five seconds. La Vecchia explained at this year’s Geneva Motor Show that the so-called Flow Accumulator Energy Storage (FAES) invented by NLV is a combination of an electro-chemical battery and a redox cell. Each 15-20 minute charge will last you well over 300 miles, that’s ridiculous… yes I know. Remember, its fully electric, not hybrid! Check out the CNET video below…

The price of this green monster? Nothing has been said just yet, but considering the technology put into this, you will need to be pretty darn rich to be this ‘green’. Here are a few mouth watering pictures below…

It is indeed amazing that we can make use of it’s heat. To have energy for our homes and appliances and of course, to save!
Solar energy panels really helped many people. It is very useful and reasonable in saving money.
It is all natural and a green nature friendly.

    A.D. says:

This is a concept car and it does not have to actually work.
Koenigsegg is a very small company and has not the capacity to build this car in large series.
If the Saab purchase materializes, then it could have the facility to buid it in large serie.
What is amazing is the 500Km range of the car, due to its FAES (Flow Accumulator Energy Storage) which seams something out of a Science Fiction movie.
Another amazing claim is the unlimited charging cycles.
The fast charge claim is not new and it requires an industrial high voltage charger which is not available in anyone garage.
The so called “solar car” is provided with a layer of thin film PV cell covering the car’s body and windows, with an efficiency of 38% and up to 50%. This is used only for radio and accessories, not for charging the batery.
Taking into account all the claims of the designer, and the fact that
Koenigsegg is a small luxury car manufacturer I supose this car, if it will ever see the production will not never be a car for the masses.
