Just a quick tip for those of you who are iPhone users. If you remember when we posted about xGPS, well the latest version 1.2, is now available for download through Cydia (which means you must have your iPod Touch or iPhone jailbroken first). In addition to a number of great new features, xGPS 1.2 will also offer turn by turn voice instructions, though the voice sounds very robotic and much like Prof. Hawking’s talking wheelchair, it seems to do its job quite well. Watch the video by Xwaves after the jump…
Everybody would say: Finally! Yes, xGPS 1.2 has been released. The version has been sent to the MMI repository and will be available within some hours. It should be in everybody’s Cydia as the MMI repository is installed by default. Just do a refresh within some hours and xGPS should pop up.
This version of xGPS has required us a lot of hours of work. We have tried to bring the most advanced and stable navigation software for the iPhone / iPod touch. However, even if we have made our best, you have to keep in mind that this software is free but not bug free. If you experience such a bug feel free to ask in the forum but do not say “It doesn’t work, it’s crappy”.

1.) can this program work without jailbreak?
2.) will it work in Europe and the Middle East, Jordan, Egypt, Israel?
3.) How does it compare to the Tom Tom app besides one is free and the other $100?
Thanks
LP
What's the suggested GPS adapter for pod touch use?
Hi, there isn’t a specific one which you must use, you can use the one here by Orange Gadgets: https://www.orangegadgets.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=1_2&products_id=1 It does cost $75 though, but it will support first gen iPhone and iPod Touch so that you can use xGPS.
