Hey folks, we were sent the Philips Wake Up Light over the weekend for a quick review. Our first impression – it’s bigger than we expected compare to normal wake-up light / or bedside lamps which you would normally buy. I must admit first of all, the Wake Up Light isn’t one of Philips latest products but I suppose it must be serving customers well enough that Philips is confident that it definitely works and still want to promote it.

You may have heard of seasonal affective disorder (SAD), it is a condition where you develop symptoms of depression in winter, sometime between September and November and continuing on until March or April. Symptoms tend to be worse during the most depressing months December, January and February (not for Australians though). The symptoms tend to go away when spring arrives, but don’t take our word for it, go see your GP! Anyway, as a result of this, there are different devices on the market called ‘SAD light’ or ‘SAD lamps’, which claim to benefit people affected by SAD.

Light therapy (sitting in front of a special bright light for a few minutes each day) is an effective treatment in many cases. This wake up light suggested to offer health benefits, wakes you naturally and start your day full of energy.

I bought a Phillips wake up light at the end of 2007. really liked it. Unfortunaetly the bulbs are no longer available. When my bulb expired,it seems to have damaged thecircuit board. Now I have a most expensive alarm clock, with no working light. So not a happy morning person.
