Hey Guys

Your guys are doing gr88 work so keep it up.

Here is my whiner.... my fone was disabled this morning so off I go to itunes to restore and without checking the prompts I happen to install the 2.2 and guess what... I am sitting with a locked phone..

Do you guys have an approximate time for releasing the jailbreak for 2.2 ... lest I just use the fone as a paper weight.

Cheers

Hello Joel, thanks for leaving your comment, sorry for the delay in replying. You can in fact only jailbreak the iPhone 3G at this point and not unlock it though we now know that the iPhone Dev Team are making good progress and unlocking it will only be a matter of months (we suspect).

Jailbreaking will give your iPhone the advantage to use third party apps and download from Cydia, of course this is entirely free. The latest jailbreaking methods for the iPhone 3G will work for firmware 2.1 and hopefully 2.2 in the near future. Here's a link to our guide on doing this on firmware 2.1 http://blog.gadgetlite.com/2008/09/14/roundup-jailbreaking-unlocking-3/ please do not hesitate to contact us further for support!

Hi Roland, thanks for your message. Just like to first clear up a common confusion, the softwares aren't actually created by us and instead by the iPhone Dev Team (blog.iphone-dev.org), therefore we are just users like yourself with a tiny bit more experience.

For reasons we don't entirely understand your problem seems to be very common amongst iPhone users who have jailbroken their iPhones. The only suggestion we could make is try and re-do the whole process again using a freshly downloaded firmware from Apple and then running QuickPwn. Sorry we could not be of more help, thanks for your time.

I have my iphone jailbroken and I have one advice for you. If you have 10 screens of applications and many more installed from cydia it can slow your phone. It's worth it! That's why I'll wait for the new soft to be broken.

I unlocked my 2G iPhone after the firmware update to 2.01 with your software, which worked fine. However, the phone now performs extremely slow and constantly locks up even when just scrolling through the address book (it will continue after a wait). Is there any solution to help with this issue? Using the iPhone in its current state is very cumbersome.

Thanks,
Roland
