So you’ve already seen iPhone and the new T-Mobile G1 battle it out in a comic strip, here is now a video from CNET in which they run a quick and simple test to see which of the rivals actually has the faster 3G speed. Limitation though, the two uses different browsers, they’re from different networks, therefore 3G network coverage is also different – but which do you think will be faster?

I won’t give away which phone won, but it is quite surprising that it won by such a relatively large amount (8 seconds – about 28% faster), of course as you say it is fairly meaningless given the different browsers and networks.
I guess that video doesn’t really say anything but I am really curious to check out the G1.

To be honest, that’s not really surprising to me. There are a lot of software factors involved with the test moreso than hardware factors, but still…
