When it comes to leading the way in technology and creating world record holding gadgets, you’ve got to give a few thumbs up to the Japanese.
Here, Sony Japan, have once again excited everyone by leading the way and creating the KDL-40ZX1, beating its competitive rival Hitachi in introducing now what is officially the world’s thinnest LCD TV. The previous record holder from Hitachi was the Hitachi 1.5 UltraThin, which you will appreciate was already incredibly thin.
But as you can see in the picture to the right, Sony’s latest creation is even thinner, with a width of just slightly less than 1cm at 9.9mm, the 40-inch KDL-40ZX1 weighs just 26 pounds! It will also feature LED backlighting, 3,000:1 contrast ratio, 120Hz MotionFlow tech, x.v.Color and BRAVIA Engine 2 image processing.
The Sony KDL-40ZX1 will be released in Japan on November 10th, 2008 under a hefty price tag, we’ll keep you updated…
