pls help! i know i am a few years late and there are 3g iphones now. Im still using a 2g iphone 1.1.4 and i have recently clicked restore button on itunes. and now its locked.
i have followed the instructions but still i cannot unlock my phone.

i have conncted my iphone but as it detects for my iphone it doesnt but it keeps searching. on the other hand, itunes is able to detect my iphone.

please help. i am using ziphone v 3.0

i have also tried to downgrade since itunes has automatically upgraded mine into a 3.0 + , but it doesnt detect.

Hello, are you sure this is what you want to do? This downgrade was originally designed because there wasn’t at that time a tool to jailbreak and unlock the iPhone 2G on firmware 2.0, but we’ve now moved on much further than 2.0. how do you do this process with windows?

I have an (old) iphone 2g and it is unlocked not jailbreaked. I downloaded the new update and it wont allow me to use it anymore. I need to know how to downgrade to how it was before. can you help me?

You can think of it this way, 2G is the ‘old’ iPhone and 3G is the latest one. While firmware 2.0 is the latest version of the firmware and both 2G and 3G iPhones can have it following an upgrade. You just need iTunes 7.5 and the 1.1.4 firmware image to downgrade. Force it into DFU mode, and restore to 1.1.4 firmware in iTunes.

2.0 back to 1.4 is possible with windows! Downgrade baseband in DFU and after install only apple logo will show op.. Then hold power/home for force reboot in restore and restore to you own created 1.1.4 with both bl and let it downgrade to 3.9.. Press shift and recover in itunes.. You’re done.

Hi, well at the moment using the method in this post I can confirm with you that if you have a mac and follow the steps you WILL be able to unlock it again at firmware 1.1.4. If you are a Windows user, XP or Vista, you will need to wait abit and we will update you when this is ready, we’ll keep an eye on this issue. Hope this helps.

tnx a lot for the quick response…im now askin a friend who’s a mac user to look into it..but i need to know if we’ll be able to unlock it using mac, will i be able to use it usin vista or do i have to use mac..sorry, dont know much about tech things just got very excited and bought it…hope to hear from u soon…tnx alot..
