I don’t have much time for blogging today, but I have got a very interesting find to share with everyone. I’m not sure how many of you will enjoy abit of water fun from time to time but I’m certainly no scuba diver so I don’t know much about scuba diving. But even for someone like me when I saw the pics of the Nemo 33, I felt it certainly deserved a few big ‘wow’!

The Nemo 33 is a scuba diving centre or pool in Belgium, it is the largest in the world and believe me it is MASSIVE! Since I’m abit busy today, I will have to let you read this…

The pool itself consists of a submerged structure with flat platforms at various depth levels. The pool has two large flat-bottomed areas at depth levels of 5 m (16 ft) and 10 m (32 ft), and a large circular pit descending to a depth of 33 m (108 ft).

It is filled with 2,500,000 liters of non-chlorinated, highly filtered spring water maintained at 30 °C (86 °F) and contains several simulated underwater caves at the 10 m depth level.

There are numerous underwater windows that allow outside visitors to look into the pools at various depths.

The complex was designed by Belgian diving expert John Beernaerts as a multi-purpose diving instruction, recreational, and film production facility, and opened in 2004.

I don’t know about you but when I first saw the pics and the video below, my first thought was what if I run out of oxygen when I’m way down, is there some sort of escape route? But I suppose scuba divers would know what to do and beginners probably wouldn’t go too far neither. One thing is for sure, if you’re claustrophobic, you’ll probably be quite reluctant to dive into this pool!
