Ever thought a mobile phone could have the dialing features of the good old rotary dial phone from the 70s/80s (or even older, not entirely sure!)?

I never thought I would appreciate this type of feature on a large touch screen phone such as Apple’s iPhone but I have to admit this application actually looks pretty impressive on video. iRetroPhone which is a great name that fully describes to you what it’s about, provides you with the sound and animation you would expect when using the oldschool rotary dial phone. iRetroPhone will soon be available via the Apple App Store

You can still find rotary phones. Retro isn’t appropriate yet.

I thought of this about a year ago, and everybody thought I was crazy. Too bad I have no programming knowledge.

The idea is really good…but the physical feel of calling someone can’t be emulated which is why I feel those were really good dialling systems back then….even if they were slow.
