Yes, as most of us will have expected, the WWDC Keynote was the anticipated time for Steve Jobs to announce the iPhone’s next OS: iPhone 2.0. Many of the features previously rumored were actually real and Steve Jobs reemphasizes that here at the WWDC. It will be FREE for iPhone users and $9.95 (don’t know why they came up with a cost like that!) for iPod Touch users.

Basically, iPhone 2.0 software will have new functions like:

  • Parental controls for allow/restricting: Safari, YouTube, iTunes, Installing Apps and EXPLICIT CONTENT
  • Contact search
  • Bulk delete and move

  • Save images
  • Multi-language support and now includes asian character input (looks quite impressive!)

The oriental characters intrigue me. China has just overtaken the US in amount of internet usage, with only a 17% market penetration. It all is going mobile and the iPhone seems set to take maximum advantage of this!

Yes iPhone has just hit the jackpot with its new line of technology and they are benefiting from it so much with the raise in demand of these things from countries such as China / India, etc…

I think the iPhone 2.0 software will service for iPhone’s new sale stategy. I have got news, ATT will refunds customers about $100-$200 for iPhone. I guess ATT want to get more revenues from mobile ads, the lower cost for iPhone will boost iPhone users, so the mobiel ads revenue will increase. ATT will earn more.
