Latest designer concept: Nokia 888 Form, the armband mobile phone…

As you will have presumed, this isn’t an official concept but if Nokia possibly considered it, then its designer Tamer NAKISCI from Turkey would definitely be delighted! You will probably be able to tell just from looking at the picture that the Nokia 888 ‘Form’ isn’t just any old candybar phone but a mobile phone designed to be flexible and optimised for user convenience, it’s also got a very sporty style that I believe targets the younger generation of mobile phone users.

A personal mobile communication device which lets you be free and fun. It is light, simple and carefree. You can change its form according to your needs during the day.

Tamer NAKISCI emphasizes on his website which I believe he has built just for his Nokia 888 Form design, that the Nokia 888 Form’s design is built around the purpose of functionality and that its design gives the phone the ability for it to work around the user which makes it much more unique than anything that’s currently available on the market.

You dont have to carry it in your pocket or on your wrist. You can carry it anywhere, in anyform. You can roll it, bend it, put on your clothes like a clip. It also makes some form changes that makes it more ergonomical: i.e. when you want to talk on the phone, the body form turns into the form of the good old telephone. You can personalize these forms and record them. So it fits you the best in the way that you have chosen. The functions that it has also create a feeling of electronical pet, as it senses your moves, understand what you want, respond you in the best way. It learns you, to fit you better. Also e-motions lets you send forms to the other 888 users. It could be the shape of a heart or a small dance. This way you can talk without words.

Here’s the more technical bit, though this is just a design, the Nokia 888 Form will be equipped with liquid battery for flexibility, speech recognition, flexible touch screen (OLED maybe?), touch sensitive body cover which lets it understand and adjust to the environment. It has a simple programmable body mechanism so that it changes forms in different situations. Sounds like a very advanced piece of computer technology rather than just a mobile phone if you ask me…

Tamer NAKISCI has even created a video of how the Nokia 888 Form will fit into your daily living, check it out…

  • Great Concept i like it! Talking about gadets The porsche phone has a finger print reader i just bought the Porsche Phone
  • Concept is really good but....I dunno....just seems impossible to manufacture...guess I'll be eating these words in a few years.
  • Whenever I do some casual jogging, on occasion, I bring my mobile phone to either listen to music and/or time myself how long it takes to run round the block. This wrist form would make it much more comfortable...but doesn't look like it gives room for peripheral attachments.
  • Yes, it looks really really cool mobile phone. First look, it looks like a fitness watch. Creative gadget!
  • I have to admit it looks really cool, but I am not big on things around my arms and wrists so I won't be waiting for this one.
