Latest news: Bill Gates announces Windows 7 release date, here are some ‘real’ pics!!!
If you were following us in February you will no doubt remember the post in which we showed some Windows 7 screenshots in addition to a video of its ‘new’ start menu. These at the time were highly criticised for their authenticity and rightly so, they looked a lot like our present day Windows Vista, it was difficult for us to believer they were real too!
But just a few days ago, Bill Gates revealed for us what we all wanted to hear, that the next version of Windows: Windows 7 (formerly called Windows Vienna for some reason) will be out in 2010. Might my PC running Windows XP be able to wait two more years, I would hate to have to switch to Vista now, I’m in hopeful spirits for Windows 7!
As you can see, these are the latest pics that have been claimed by many blogs to be ‘real’, in my opinion, they look different from the ones we showed earlier, so it is really difficult to tell if there is any authenticity to them at all, we remain sceptical!
This is what Bill Gates said at the Windows Digital Lifestyle Consortium in Tokyo…
We’re hard at work, I would say, on the next version, which we call Windows 7. I’m very excited about the work being done there. The ability to be lower power, take less memory, be more efficient, and have lots more connections up to the mobile phone, so those scenarios connect up well to make it a great platform for the best gaming that can be done, to connect up to the thing being done out on the Internet, so that, for example, if you have two personal computers, that your files automatically are synchronized between them, and so you don’t have a lot of work to move that data back and forth.
Though we remain sceptical about these images, as they can be created by anyone who is keen on some ‘image enhancement’, it’s good to know that there’s now a date to look forward to, late 2009 – 2010!

When Mr. Bill Gates has not finished his VISTA windows what is he upto. Fool the World with a new Gimmick of new WIndows. Close all the loopholes in VIsta and let it be Human friendly. And then let him try his hands on the next one. Windows XP is still running fine. He want to close it. What a foolish attempt. ITs like cutting/operating upon the better leg of a person, than on the LEG which is affected by various diseases…….
2010 is a long road from here and for me windows xp is far better than these goof looking vista and all… It really seems to be a foolish attempt from microsoft…
not impressed. i think xp was the last windows for me. vista has nothing i want, only think i dont want like fancy graphics without any use, high requirements for hardware, drm, bugs.
i only need my computer for programming, email and web – my next os is a linux if i have to upgrade my hardware and cant get xp pro anymore.
Well, I hadn’t heard of this one yet. Another Windows version? Give me a break. To me, XP is like the old NT – it’s one of the few releases they come out with that is tolerable to use. I’m with you – keep me away from Vista as long as possible. Of course by the time this one comes out, they’ll start dropping support for XP. SOS – DD – just keep spending more money.
The problem with companies like Microsoft and Norton is they tend to build on what they have, they keep building and building and eventually they end up with something lacking any efficiency. I would be great if Microsoft went back to Windows 2000 (an excellent operating system) and worked on that, creating something that isn’t too flashy and that just works as XP does (in the main). A bold move like a back to basics interface would generate a lot of positive press.
Mr. Gates Don’t be foolish and Become World No.1 in creating another #Windows. Study the mistakes in XP and improve upon it. Make the World Community a better place thro your Windows XP/ZP OK…. Learn from the mistake from the past and Don’t ever think if you acknowledge it you’ll become small. You’ll grow richer and exprienced
