Latest news: Bill Gates announces Windows 7 release date, here are some ‘real’ pics!!!
If you were following us in February you will no doubt remember the post in which we showed some Windows 7 screenshots in addition to a video of its ‘new’ start menu. These at the time were highly criticised for their authenticity and rightly so, they looked a lot like our present day Windows Vista, it was difficult for us to believer they were real too!
But just a few days ago, Bill Gates revealed for us what we all wanted to hear, that the next version of Windows: Windows 7 (formerly called Windows Vienna for some reason) will be out in 2010. Might my PC running Windows XP be able to wait two more years, I would hate to have to switch to Vista now, I’m in hopeful spirits for Windows 7!
As you can see, these are the latest pics that have been claimed by many blogs to be ‘real’, in my opinion, they look different from the ones we showed earlier, so it is really difficult to tell if there is any authenticity to them at all, we remain sceptical!
This is what Bill Gates said at the Windows Digital Lifestyle Consortium in Tokyo…
We’re hard at work, I would say, on the next version, which we call Windows 7. I’m very excited about the work being done there. The ability to be lower power, take less memory, be more efficient, and have lots more connections up to the mobile phone, so those scenarios connect up well to make it a great platform for the best gaming that can be done, to connect up to the thing being done out on the Internet, so that, for example, if you have two personal computers, that your files automatically are synchronized between them, and so you don’t have a lot of work to move that data back and forth.
Though we remain sceptical about these images, as they can be created by anyone who is keen on some ‘image enhancement’, it’s good to know that there’s now a date to look forward to, late 2009 – 2010!
