Not the latest news but these are very neat gadgets:

Takara Transformers Music Label Series

Takara Tomy, Japan, released its ‘Transformers Music Label Series in the Japan market, which consists of a ‘Soundwave’ mp3 player which supports memory cards with a SD slot and earphone ‘Frenzy & Rumble’. The mp3 player it self runs on a single AA battery which can last for about 6 hours.

Based on the video I found from YouTube (after the jump), these were available in very limited quantities and were quickly sold (within hours!). However, i have managed to find a site that claims to sell them in a set of two for $169.95 available in mint box: http://www.tfsource.com/Reissues/mp-3%20Player%20Soundwave/mp-3-soundwave.html.

LocalCooling Energy Saving Software for Your PC - Desktop Widget ScreenshotOk, so the topic of this post has very much been in everyone’s mind in the recent years, what’s more this software isn’t necessarily just for tree-huggers! Anyone can pitch-in to help reduce global warming directly from your desktop with LocalCooling. I have been waiting for something this meaningful for a long time, this new piece of “green tech” software effectively helps you reduce power usage from your Windows XP pc when its idle. What’s more is that it gives you an estimate of how many Watts your monitor, hard drive, CPU, graphic card and other hardwares are consuming.

Skirmish Assult – a flash war game to spend your time

On August 2, 2007, in Gaming, by Admin Staff

Skirmish Assult - A Flash War Game

Skirmish Assult is a mini flash paintball war game I found on ImageFly, a great way to spend your time when you don’t have much to do! The aim of the game is just to shoot paintballs non-stop using your mouse as quickly as possible and take out as many enemy targets as you can! It gets more and more tricky as you advance to later stages when enemy targets appear quicker and instantaneously on both sides of your screen!

Casio Exilim W53CA Mobile Phone - Korea Exclusive

Casio is set to join the rest of the major brands in the bid for the best 5 megapixels phone, however the new Exilim W53CA by Casio will only be available in Korea.

As pictured, the W53CA will be a clamshell, in my opinion it’s design looks much like Sharp’s 902 and 903, except better! It will be available in red, black and white, some features include a 2.8″ wide VGA screen, 5.1 megapixels camera with autofocus, image stabilization technology, an electronic dictionary, integrated music player function and microSD compatibility.

It’s too bad there is yet very limited info about this phone in English, but based on the little amount of translation we can do, the W53CA will be a reasonably slim camera phone well equipped for those (Koreans) with higher expectations yet desire convenience in handheld digital photography.

BitLet.orgBitLet.org is a very handy tool for downloading your BitTorrent (BT) files straight from your web browser into pc bypassing the need for a client program.

  1. Copy and paste the URL link of your torrent file into http://www.bitlet.org/
  2. Click “Download torrent”
  3. A small window will pop-up and ask you where you want to save your files, select your location then click “Save”
  4. Your download will start loading, now you’re all set!

BitLet is java based, that’s why there is no need for an actual client to be present on your hard drive. If you feel like sharing something with your friends using BT, you can use Bitlet to generate a link that will automatically start up using the service once the link is clicked. This means whoever gets it will be able to download the file without any need for a BitTorrent client or instructions on what to do – very convenient way to use BT!

BitLet.org BitTorrent Download Window

The pop-up applet will display the speed at which your files are being downloaded, the total file size downloaded, percentage and also any possible error messages.

However, I have found that BitLet is still at an early stage right now and does not allow you to configure things like bandwidth, ports or give you choice of selecting which files to download and which not to. Having said that, I still think BitLet.org will be an excellent and quick way to share files with your friends across the web.
